Everyone is unique. So are their vocal chords and ears. As you can imagine, music means different things to different persons. Even at a very young age, the way our ears interpret music can be completely different and unique.
When it comes to learning and teaching, the process is again very much dependent on the individual. Basically classical music is about training your ears and vocal chords with consistent practice by following specific techniques. As the term says “some are born with the talent”, some may already possess a better evolved voice than others. It simply means that they may learn some lessons faster, and one with a lesser evolved voice may need a little more time. At the end of the day, it is the passion, practice and dedication that determines their growth to become a better musician.
Lesson plans in SVSM are made keeping this uniqueness in mind. While following the traditional Carnatic lesson plan, the sessions are offered one on one and will be tailored to match each student’s skill level & learning speed.
